Q & A

TRAINING: I wake up early in the morning. Sometimes I'm able to work out in the morning before going to work, sometimes not. After work or before or some days twice a day, I train MMA, BJJ, kickboxing, S&C, wrestling and boxing. Every day is different, but we switch it up.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training when I was 15. I started because I gained some weight and wanted to lose it. A friend of mine was training and asked me to come with him to train Muay Thai. I went and never stopped!! My trainer asked me after two months if I wanted to fight. I said ‘yeah,’ and fell in love with the sport!! After that my only goal was to become the best!!

What ranks and titles have you held? I have one Dutch title in Muay Thai, three European titles in Muay Thai and I hold 10 world titles in Muay Thai in three different weight classes from seven different organizations. I have 46 Muay Thai pro fights - 46 wins and 30 wins came by the way of knockout. I would consider myself a white belt in any discipline, because every day I still learn so much. And I'm eager to learn so much more.

Do you have any heroes? My mom is my hero!!

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Nurse

What was your job before you started fighting? I was working as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital with children in the emergency department.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I have also an unbeaten record as an amateur Muay Thai fighter

Specific accomplishments in pro competition? An unbeaten pro Muay Thai record.

Favorite grappling technique: I still need to learn a lot, so at this point I love everything I learn in grappling.

Favorite striking technique: I like elbows

What do you consider to be the key fight in your career, and why? The key fight in my career was my loss against Vanessa Porto. That loss made me mentally and physically stronger. When I lost that fight, it made me realize that it’s all about having fun. And that made me the fighter I'm today.
